Soul Chat vs Doki Chat: Personal Memory or a Public Character?

Separate personal conversation-derived context from a public Dokichat character's profile, opening and publication category.

A private conversation produces useful details: a preferred nickname, a recurring project, an inside joke. Turning those details into a public character is a new editorial decision, even when the fictional companion feels familiar.

SoulChat and Dokichat expose different kinds of context. The distinction matters when a reader moves from maintaining a personal conversation to creating something other people can use.

A personal fact has an audience

SoulChat’s privacy policy describes conversation content, custom characters and community material as data processed by the service. The public product presents memories derived from companion interactions.

A personal context note might explain that the reader likes discussing an imaginary seaside town after work. That can be a useful preference in the private conversation. It does not need to become a publicly visible biography containing a real work schedule, name or location.

For a public release, invent an independent adult character and setting. A 43-year-old tide-table illustrator can invite readers to help plan an exhibition about a fictional coast. The premise stands on its own without revealing why a particular reader enjoyed the earlier chats.

Dokichat asks a different set of questions

The Dokichat creator separates public information, personality and opening dialogue. It also exposes Public/Private and originality choices.

Use the public information to explain what another reader is being invited to do. Use personality to describe the illustrator’s manner. Use the first message to offer one choice about the exhibition. Do not write an opening that assumes every new reader has the private relationship history of the original account holder.

This is an authoring workflow, not an official import route. We did not establish a memory transfer between SoulChat and Dokichat.

Rewrite rather than anonymize mechanically

Private context Independent public version
A reader’s real weekly routine A fictional exhibition deadline
A nickname from a personal relationship A new name chosen for the character
An inside joke requiring earlier chats A short observation any new reader can understand
The reader’s private preference A clear optional choice in the opening

Replacing a name while retaining a distinctive personal story may leave the person recognizable. An independently invented premise gives the public character a clearer purpose.

Classify the whole creation

Dokichat’s creation rules distinguish Original, Partially Original and Fanwork, and currently reserve search/recommendation eligibility for Original work. Writing a new public description does not automatically establish rights to artwork or another creator’s character.

The form also warns that people who already chatted can retain histories after a character is deleted. Plan a public release as material that others may have used, rather than a private note you can always recall from everyone.

Choose SoulChat’s personal context for the continuing relationship it was meant to support. Choose a public character workflow when you intend to write an invitation for new readers. The bridge between them is deliberate original writing, not a wholesale copy of personal memories.

Sources and scope

This comparison separates documented capabilities from editorial interpretation. Source access and any limitations are described in the article; a suggested evaluation is not a claim of completed testing.
